Blogs & Courage

Here is a possible paradox. Does writing a Blog give the writer courage? Or does the writer of the Blog provide others with a thought process that can improve their ability to cope with what’s before, or even what’s behind them.

I question whether anyone can write a blog without conviction. If the details of the contribution involves people, then it also involves people’s inner man. Their innermost, intimate truth concerning the stuff that makes them who they are. So, then, a blog contribution must come from the heart. The heart is not always predictable. And, following the heart has led some into romantic and emotional distress.

Jeremiah 17 – The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Consequently, when I blog…or you do, and then have it published for public critique, we do well to be willing to be found wrong.

It’s really this vulnerability that resonates with the reader. I write this blog for that purpose. I wish to convey to all that share it with me, that when we bare our bones, so to speak, when we stand up to be counted, when we state our thoughts in words, knowing full well that the “Lord” tries and tests the heart, the test results are not always good. This feat of achieving openness takes courage.

Do You Fear the Wind

-Hamlin Garland-

Do you fear the force of the wind,

The slash of the rain?

Go face them and fight them,

Be savage again.

Go hungry and cold like the wolf,

Go wade like the crane:

The palms of your hands will thicken,

The skin of your cheek will tan,

You'll grow ragged and weary and swarthy,

But you'll walk like a man!

Cheers…
